Dear Greenwood Water Customers,

At 10:30 AM today, water service was temporarily shut off to perform critical mainline repairs within the Greenwood Water Corporation system. Our crews are actively working to complete the repairs and restore water service as quickly and safely as possible.

Due to this interruption, system pressure has fallen below the required 20 psi minimum. As a result, and in accordance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations, we are issuing a Precautionary Boil Water Notice for all Greenwood Water customers effective immediately and lasting until further notice.

What You Should Do:

To ensure the destruction of any harmful bacteria or microbes:

• Boil all water intended for drinking, cooking, making ice, washing fruits/vegetables, or brushing teeth.
• Bring water to a vigorous rolling boil for at least two (2) minutes, then allow it to cool before use.
• As an alternative, you may use bottled water for these purposes.

What Happens Next:

• Crews will complete the repairs and restore service today.
• We will begin water quality testing immediately after repairs are finished.
• The Boil Water Notice will remain in place until laboratory results confirm that your water is safe to consume — typically within 24-48 hours.
• You will be notified via text, email, and website when the notice is lifted.

Why This Notice is Issued:

Loss of pressure below 20 psi may allow contaminants to enter the distribution system. While this is a precautionary notice, your safety is our top priority, and we are following all state-required procedures.
